Before we made the jam a few berries were put aside for a crumble. We like crumble. It’s easy to rustle up and much enjoyed. And it’s been a while since I posted a recipe, so let’s combine the two things – a love of crumble and its recipe.
For the Filling
500g cooking apple
3 tablespoons golden sugar
The rind and juice of one lemon
Nutmeg – a few scrapes
For the top
200g Plain Flour
50g golden sugar
1. Pre-heat the oven to 200*C/Gas 6
2. Rub the flour, salt and butter in to form a crumb texture
3. Mix in the sugar.
4. In another bowl add all the filling ingredients and mix. Place in a greased oven dish
5. Sprinkle the crumb mix over the apple and blueberry mixture
6. Bake for 30 mins
Serve with whipped cream or ice-cream.
