Doiliophilia

I knew when I saw the worried look in my sister’s eyes at the thrift store that I had a problem. Perhaps once upon a time I might have had the same look for someone else before the disease struck. I mean, an armful of doilies and vintage sheets stacked up to the nose, trailing on the floor and fretting that I’d left any behind, I mean… it’s an illness, isn’t it?

I am a lover of doilies :: I am a doiliophile…. oh, the shame….

  1. Been reading you for ages, but am an inveterate lurker… My illness is embroidered tablecloths. I could cloth a street party with the amount I have. I do have a few doilies as well. And a crocheted bedspread that’s like a massive blue doily… oh dear.

  4. Just for the record I’d like to announce that I’m also addicted to vintage bedsheets, tableclothes, old books, cameras, china, pyrex, fabric, yarn and anything that reminds me of my nana.Carry on.

  5. What a great find!!!!! I bet most of them are hand crochet. You can’t go wrong for doilies. I love them too. And you do use them for other things. You deserve all the doilies you can get your hands on!
