The good news is :: I finally finished knitting this shrug.
The bad news is :: I’d have to be an anorexic schoolchild to fit into it.
The bad news is :: I haven’t blocked the shrug.
The good news is :: it doesn’t fit, so I don’t have to.
Every cloud has a silver lining :: every silver lining has a cloud.

We, like most Muslims around the world, will be celebrating Eid ul Adha tomorrow – I’ll be back in this space a little later on in the week insha’allah. For those of you celebrating – hope yours is peaceful and lovely, if you aren’t, well, have a nice Wednesday anyway!
saha eidkum..insha’allah it’s a day full of blessings and happiness for you and yours…I also have knitting sticks that insist on making up garments in the wrong size…either that or I have serious body dysmorphia!xxx

The pattern was a little too optimistic! In fact, looking through the rest of the book all the sizes are for anaorexics – even the mens! I mean, which man do you know has a 30″ chest? Oh well. Will avoid in the future.

Oh my goodness. I’m having the same problem. Don’t you just hate that. I finished making the shalom sweater. It will not fit me. Thank goodness my girlfriend is that small. So she is getting it for her birthday this afternoon. I have to hurry up and sew in the ends. Wishing you a happy celebration.Sonya

The Yarn Girls Guide to Knits for all seasons – all the yarn isn’t available in the UK, so susbtitutes had to be used, but that doesn’t exuse the small nature of their patterns. I very rarely dismiss a whole book, but this is one of them. Avoid.
